Maps of Sediment
2012-2013

Porcelain, stoneware, video, mixed various techniques

Porcelain plates taken from industrial waste of the renowned Ćmielów porcelain factory in Poland are displayed within an antique wooden vitrine, like an inherited set of dishes. The opaque black-orange, fleshy porcelain sheets conceal pre-state mappings of existing and destroyed settlements, creating a sharp dissonance with the whiteness of the plates, and illustrating the tension between memory and erasure.

The project was created in the summer of 2024 during my residency at the Ćmielów porcelain factory.
